Gatineau, February 5, 2014 – With the assistance of its partner Polyclinique de l’Oreille, the Groupe Forget Foundation is pleased to donate to the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau comprehensive audiology evaluations with practically no waiting time. Children attending this center sometimes suffer from learning backwardness that may be caused by a hearing loss.
« Our most vulnerable children need a fast access to screening services, diagnosis and follow-up in audiology in order to correct problems that affect their development. I am grateful to the Groupe Forget Foundation for its active contribution to the care of our children so they may grow healthy! What an extraordinary initiative! », said Dr Anne Marie Bureau, physician at the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau.
«Hearing is a precious sense that is essential to the social integration of children, this is the reason why we wanted to be involved with the pediatric center,» stated Mrs. Elyse Proulx, Director of the Groupe Forget Foundation.
The Groupe Forget Foundation is a non profit organization. Its mission is to improve the life conditions of those affected by hearing loss and to increase public awareness to the daily impacts of such a loss.
The mission of the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau is to welcome vulnerable children, who suffer, are ill or become excluded or abandoned by the community, in order to help them regain their health and hope and to develop their full potential in compliance with the children’s rights convention.
