You might be one of them, so we\u2019d like you to get your hearing checked. It\u2019s also important for caregivers and those who are close to you know the signs of hearing loss so they can spot hearing problems in you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The signs of hearing loss<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The person asks you to repeat what you have said (especially when he or she can\u2019t see your face).<\/li>\n<li>The person\u2019s answers to your questions are a bit \u201coff\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>The person is often distracted during group activities.<\/li>\n<li>The person tends to isolate him- or herself when there are group activities.<\/li>\n<li>The person stares at you when you are speaking.<\/li>\n<li>The person doesn\u2019t answer when you speak to him or her and doesn\u2019t turn to face you.<\/li>\n<li>The person\u2019s friends and family comment on his or her hearing (e.g. television, telephone, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Test your hearing by filling out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fondationgroupeforget.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Entendez_vous_bien.pdf\">questionnaire <\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/legroupeforget.com\/testez-votre-audition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">doing the online test<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Reproduced with written permission from the author, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Caron.<br \/>\nQuestionnaire created by H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Caron, M.O.A., Audiologist, Institut Raymond-Dewar, scientifically validated by Michel Picard, PhD, Full Professor of Audiology, Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al.<br \/>\nPublished in collaboration with the Fondation Surdit\u00e9 et Communication at the Institut Raymond-Dewar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some people aren\u2019t aware that they have a hearing problem.
