On August 31, the Fondation Groupe Forget granted a $3,000 scholarship to Giacomo Volpe<\/strong>, in the second edition of the REA scholarships. As of 2021, the grant is given yearly thanks to support from several generous partners. In all, seven $3,000 scholarships <\/strong>and one $1,500 scholarship<\/strong> were given to eight students living with an impairment.<\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In attendance at the award event were Gracia Kasoki Katahwa, Mayor of C\u00f4te-des-Neiges\u2013Notre-Dame-de-Gr\u00e2ce; Jacques Couillard, deputy CEO of the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l\u2019\u00cele-de-Montr\u00e9al; Patrice Bergeron, Chair of the Board of the REA Foundation; as well as some funders.<\/p>\n

The recipients were honoured for winning and praised for the perseverance and determination they have shown throughout their academic and rehabilitation journeys.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n

Winner: Fondation Groupe Forget scholarship<\/h3>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Giacomo Volpe<\/strong> is studying in the bachelor\u2019s program in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Concordia University.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We encourage Mr. Volpe as he continues his studies and wish him tremendous success. He is a wonderful example for all of us of great determination and will.<\/p>\n

The Fondation Groupe Forget scholarship<\/h3>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This scholarship is intended for students with a hearing impairment. Recipients of the Fondation Groupe Forget scholarship can also receive assistance to obtain cutting-edge hearing aids or assistive listening devices to improve their academic integration.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n
