RÉA 2022 Winners – Groupe Forget Foundation Scholarship

On August 31, the Fondation Groupe Forget granted a $3,000 scholarship to Giacomo Volpe, in the second edition of the REA scholarships. As of 2021, the grant is given yearly thanks to support from several generous partners. In all, seven $3,000 scholarships and one $1,500 scholarship were given to eight students living with an impairment.

In attendance at the award event were Gracia Kasoki Katahwa, Mayor of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce; Jacques Couillard, deputy CEO of the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal; Patrice Bergeron, Chair of the Board of the REA Foundation; as well as some funders.

The recipients were honoured for winning and praised for the perseverance and determination they have shown throughout their academic and rehabilitation journeys.

Winner: Fondation Groupe Forget scholarship

Giacomo Volpe is studying in the bachelor’s program in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Concordia University.

We encourage Mr. Volpe as he continues his studies and wish him tremendous success. He is a wonderful example for all of us of great determination and will.

The Fondation Groupe Forget scholarship

This scholarship is intended for students with a hearing impairment. Recipients of the Fondation Groupe Forget scholarship can also receive assistance to obtain cutting-edge hearing aids or assistive listening devices to improve their academic integration.
